FL death No obamacare_Harvard_cuny studyIf you have tracked the Obamacare reporting from the Right – wing  Fox you would know that many if not all of their stories have been found to be lies after good journalist followed up to discover the details.  This story is not a lie – it is unfortunately true.  In Florida because it is one of the Republican run states, Governor Scott has refused to expand Medicaid, which is one of the key components to Obamacare.   According to a ThinkProgress article on 9 April, “Charlene Dill, a 32-year-old mother of three, collapsed and died on a stranger’s floor at the end of March. She was at an appointment to try to sell a vacuum cleaner, one of the three part-time jobs that she worked to try to make ends meet for her family. Her death was a result of a documented heart condition — and it could have been prevented.”

This is unconscionable that just to spite Obamacare, the Right-wing, which puts so much effort into its anti-abortion activism does not blink an eye to deny hundreds of thousands medical coverage they would easily otherwise have by expanding eligibility of the Medicaid program.   Just in Florida alone there are an estimated “750,000 low-income Floridians” eligible for Medicaid expansion under Obamacare.

We all need to be angry and use this unfortunate incident to motivate us to turn out the vote to get rid of these inhumane Right-wing leaders starting with the Florida governor.  This is happening in many Red states such as Texas, Kansas, and Georgia.

The irony is that many in the Red states want Medicaid expanded so they can get health care.
